: Single phase and three phase up to 7500 kVA
Applications : These transformers are mounted on
Locomotive in Engine Compartment itself, to step
down the voltage collected from over head lines.
The voltage at 25KV is stepped down to 865 or 1760
Volts . These voltages are further rectified through
converters to suitable DC voltages specified for
the traction motors , which drive the trains. Mainly
used by Chittaranjan Locomotive works.
